[UPDATED] Situation calms as Tunku Nadzaruddin leaves Balai Undang Luak Sungai Ujong

After Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja'afar departed from the Balai Undang Luak Sungai Ujong premises around midday today, peace was restored in the area, with police presence gradually diminishing. The four Undang, whose appointments have been contested, were also observed leaving the balai in their respective official vehicles around 12:15pm.

Initially, more than fifty police personnel were stationed around the Balai Undang Sungai Ujong near Ampangan, accompanied by several trucks. Tunku Nadzaruddin and the four Undang were reportedly present within the premises. Media representatives who arrived to report on the situation were prohibited from approaching the building and were instructed to leave.

This situation arose following the cancellation of a meeting between Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, state executive council members, and Tunku Nadzaruddin, on security concerns. The Menteri Besar subsequently had breakfast with the exco members and several government backbenchers. Lawyers representing Tunku Nadzaruddin and the four Undang asserted that they were unable to leave the balai due to a police blockade.

However, attempts to confirm this claim with Emirul Sarifudin Nor Azmi, one of the lawyers, as well as with Negri Sembilan's police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad, were unsuccessful.
