UiPath introduces new workflow automation, software testing features

UiPath, a leading automation platform, unveiled a suite of new features aimed at streamlining the work of knowledge workers at its FUSION conference in Las Vegas. The enhancements, which are either presently available or set to launch next month, utilize artificial intelligence agents, scripts, and third-party applications to automate repetitive business tasks.

With over 3 million developers leveraging its platform to create automation workflows, UiPath's latest lineup includes Cartographer, a tool designed to simplify the initial stages of automation initiatives. Cartographer automatically gathers necessary data to map out how employees perform manual tasks, including handling exceptions and making judgment calls, and subsequently generates a ready-to-use automation workflow with built-in effectiveness measurement features.

This tool logs the actions of deployed workflows, enabling enterprises to refine accuracy. Additionally, a feature called Decision Ledger logs actions performed by the workflow in production, providing valuable insights for enhancement. UiPath will also enhance its Test Cloud component, which accelerates software testing, with Autonomous Exploration, allowing engineers to define high-level bug detection goals and mix manual and automated testing approaches.

Furthermore, an AI agent called UiPath Delegate automates administrative tasks such as preparing interface test summaries. The UiPath Integration Service, a major focus of the update, provides connectors to integrate automation workflows with third-party applications, databases, and MCP-based AI agent tools. Relay enables connections to on-premises workloads, allowing customers to store login credentials in existing secrets vaults instead of in UiPath, simplifying administrators' work.

The company is also introducing governance controls to ensure AI components in automation workflows operate reliably, and UiPath Coding Agents, which enables developers to use AI tools like Claude Code for automation workflow creation, has moved to general availability.
