Two family members held over death of disabled woman in Kuala Kangsar

KUALA KANGSAR: Police have apprehended two family members of a 49-year-old woman with a learning disability who was found dead from stab wounds at her home in Kampung Cheh Hilir, Kati, Kuala Kangsar. Assistant Commissioner Heisham Harun explained the two men were held under Section 302 of the Penal Code for suspected murder. Preliminary investigations revealed the incident arose from a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspects.

Police discovered the deceased unresponsive and covered in blood in the living room of the house. The family members, also related to the victim, were detained as they are believed to be implicated in the case. A knife believed to have been used during the incident was found by the police. The victim's body was sent to Taiping Hospital Forensic Department for a post-mortem examination.

Nor Ainon Omar, 49, was discovered deceased inside her home shared with her husband and three other family members, three of whom also had disabilities. The JPKK chairman, Nur Halim Abdul Hamid, noted that the victim lived in the house with her family, all of whom had disabilities.
