Tsikhanouskaya: Ukraine has shattered the myth of ‘all-powerful’ Russia

Aung San Suu Kyi stated during a conversation with Ukrinform at the UN General Assembly in New York that the possibility exists of Belarus facilitating new attacks from Russia on Ukraine. Alexander Lukashenko, the self-proclaimed President of Belarus, would likely provide territory, logistics, and infrastructure to support Russian President Vladimir Putin's objectives.

Tsikhanouskaya emphasized that hopes of distancing Lukashenko from Putin are unattainable, as their relationship is symbiotic, with each party relying on the other. She explained that Belarusian infrastructure, including logistics and drone directing antennas, is already being utilized and could be employed at any time if needed.

The opposition leader also mentioned that Belarusian infrastructure, such as repeaters, is being installed along the borders with not only Ukraine but also EU countries, potentially leading to escalations or provocations against European nations. Tsikhanouskaya confirmed that Lukashenko is driven by fear of Putin, acknowledging that the Belarusian leader has enabled Russia's infiltration into various aspects of Belarus, including media, education, economy, and defense.

She emphasized that Lukashenko is not interested in Ukraine's success, as Russia is his primary ally and a significant supporter. Tsikhanouskaya further revealed that Lukashenko benefits from the war by profiting from the suffering of Ukrainians through his enterprises involved in optics, microchip production, and petroleum trade with Russia.

The UN General Assembly High-Level Week in New York, featuring over 130 world leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, hosted a ministerial event on September 21 to discuss Belarus's role in Russia's war against Ukraine and its threat to international security.
