Philadelphia shoegaze band They Are Gutting a Body of Water unveiled their expansive new mixtape, Kool Faith / Loosies II, featuring an array of guest artists on October 16 digitally and November 20 physically through ATO/Julia’s War. The 29-track release includes collaborations with Spirit of the Beehive, Hotline TNT, RXK Nephew, and numerous others.
Three new songs from the mixtape—"Kool Marder" featuring Cashier, "The Rook," and "Free Willy"—were previewed. Band leader Doug Dulgarian explained the concept behind the project: "For me who was born later, it meant mashups of all my favorite artists by local DJs. And so that’s what I did with this one, mashups of all my favorite artists."
