Ten Shops Demolished In MP’s Piplia Mandi As Officials Clear Government Land Worth ₹60 Lakh

Piplia Mandi in Madhya Pradesh witnessed the demolition of 10 permanent shops constructed illegally on government land at Napakheda Chowpatty on Wednesday. The clearance operation, which lasted four hours, involved approximately 100 officials, employees, and five JCB machines operating from 6 am until around 10 am. According to Malhargarh SDM Swati Tiwari, the encroachment took place on 1,732 square feet of government land under Khasra No. 107.

The estimated market value of the land was Rs 60 lakh. The individual responsible for the encroachment, Parmeshwar Dangi, had been previously served notices to remove the structures but did not comply. Following an eviction order from the naib tehsildar court in Sanjit, the demolition proceeded. During the process, Dangi suffered a head injury from a brick and his 22-year-old son, Kamalshankar, ingested rat poison.

Both were treated and are now stable at Mandsaur District Hospital. The administration stated that the site had been cleared of encroachments earlier, but the issue resurfaced. They plan to utilize the cleared land for public facilities, such as a public toilet.
