Sybiha: Russia Strikes Ukrainian Data Centers As UN Focuses On Peace Efforts

As the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly concentrates on diplomatic attempts to bring an end to the conflict, Ukraine has once again endured a significant Russian assault, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, as reported by UATV English. "While the 81st session of the UN General Assembly is centered on peace efforts and diplomacy to put an end to the war, Ukraine is once again under a massive Russian attack," stated Sybiha.

According to the foreign minister, two individuals were killed and over 40 wounded in Russian strikes that occurred both at night and in the morning. Sybiha asserted that Russia also targeted key Ukrainian data centers in an effort to disrupt the dissemination of information. He emphasized that alerts regarding missile and drone threats are crucial as they aid in saving lives.

"These are critical civilian infrastructure facilities that provide people with access to vital information. They are not military targets and are essential for the regular functioning of everyday life," Sybiha explained. Additionally, a college building in Kyiv was also hit while students were present. "Since Russia is unable to achieve its objectives on the battlefield, it is seeking new methods to destabilize life in Ukraine and terrorize civilians," Sybiha remarked.

He called for intensified sanctions pressure and additional missile interceptors, asserting that these measures are required to counter Russian attacks. "These attacks must not become the new normal," Sybiha stressed.
