Slovakia eyes cooperation with Sarawak in water, waste management and AI

KUCHING (Sept 24): Slovakia is considering collaboration with Sarawak across various sectors, including water and flood management, waste management, recycling, environmental technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, according to Slovak Ambassador to Malaysia Peter Spišiak. The Slovak delegation, led by Spišiak, met with Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Satria Pertiwi Complex in Kuching.

Spišiak informed that Slovak companies possess expertise and technologies that could assist Sarawak in the mentioned areas. The collaboration possibilities also extend to road management, as identified by Abang Johari. To follow up on this meeting, the Slovak Embassy plans to organize an online presentation featuring Slovak companies alongside the Sarawak business community, in partnership with the Sarawak Business Federation (SBF) and relevant Sarawak Government ministries and departments.

As Spišiak's fourth visit to Sarawak, he expressed enthusiasm for further expanding cooperation in different areas. He also emphasized Sarawak's multicultural nature as a crucial advantage for both Malaysian society and the economy. Furthermore, the Slovak Ambassador praised the role of the Catholic Church in Sarawakian society, particularly its contribution to the state's education system.
