Shin Bet reveals: This is how terrorists planned to assassinate Ben Gvir

Two Palestinians have been indicted for their roles in promoting terror activities, acquiring weapons, and planning attacks in Nablus, according to the Shin Bet (Israeli Security Agency) and the Judea and Samaria District Police's Counterterrorism Unit. The two were reportedly planning an attack against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir in 2024.

During their interrogation, one of the suspects suggested a "drive-by attack," aiming to assassinate the minister once he arrived at the scene. The suspects also considered using an explosive drone for the attack and tried to obtain drone parts from China. They worked together from late 2023 to promote military activity, acquire weapons, recruit additional terror operatives, and conduct shooting exercises.

The investigation revealed their involvement in planning attacks using explosive vehicles, drones, and shooting attacks against Israeli civilians and security forces. The court extended their detention multiple times before the Samaria Military Prosecution filed indictments against them, who will remain in custody until the legal proceedings are completed.

Ben-Gvir, in response to the announcement, stated that it was the eleventh time he had been targeted by terrorists and affirmed his commitment to enforcing tough policies in the prisons, demolishing illegal construction in the Negev, and ensuring the implementation of the death penalty law.
