Scarlets' Anderson set to miss start of season

Scarlets number eight Fletcher Anderson is set to miss the beginning of the season due to a groin injury. The 23-year-old, who was a standout player for Scarlets last season, has not appeared in any of the three pre-season matches against Exeter, Dragons, and Saracens. Despite director of rugby Nigel Davies' hope that Anderson could play in the URC opener against Cardiff this Saturday, it is believed that he will miss the early stages of the season.

Davies stated that Anderson "is probably going to be available at any time between now and the next three or four weeks", emphasizing their commitment to ensuring his return is a long-term one. Scarlets face challenges in the back row, with new signing Cullen Grace not joining until next month and Wales flanker Taine Plumtree sidelined until October due to injury.

The team will rely on players like Sam Lousi, Tristan Davies, and the promising teenager Osian Williams.
