Sabah man bites ex-girlfriend and threatens to kill her, gets RM5,800 fine

KOTA KINABALU, Sept 23 — A 35-year-old man, Mohd Aideed Husein, has been fined RM5,800 following his guilty plea for assaulting his ex-girlfriend and threatening to kill her. The incident occurred on September 15, involving the 30-year-old woman. At the Magistrates' Court, he was fined RM1,800, with a six-month jail term in default, for causing hurt to the woman outside a shop on Lorong Suria Inanam 1, under Section 323 of the Penal Code.

Additionally, he was fined RM4,000, with a nine-month jail term in default, for threatening to kill her at the same location on the same day, under Section 506 of the Penal Code. The court heard that the couple had an argument inside a car before Mohd Aideed threatened to kill her if she ended their relationship. Consequently, he hit and bit her right arm.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Akaash Singh represented the prosecution, while Mohd Aideed was unrepresented.
