According to the manufacturer, the new model requires less effort to overcome wind resistance at 35 km/h, which is the "sweet spot" for gravel racers as tested in a wind tunnel. A longer wheelbase aims to increase stability, while a 1.5 cm shorter stack height allows for a more sporty riding position. For higher-end variants CFR and CF SLX, the pace cockpit can be adjusted in width and height using a Torx tool.
New control drops and a bottom tube bottle holder are also included. In collaboration with Cyclite, Canyon has developed a matching bikepacking gear collection. Notably, a carbon wheelset GR 50 CF tailored for wide gravel tires is introduced.
