QMC launches ‘Nahj’ to promote responsible digital content

Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) has introduced the "Nahj" initiative to promote responsible digital content creation and uphold national values. The program, launched under the slogan "Committed to Our Values," is being carried out in collaboration with Qatar University, ministries, educational institutions, and other relevant parties.

It aims to educate school and university students, content creators, and the general public through meetings, seminars, workshops, and digital platforms over a three-month period. Mohammed bin Sal’an al-Marri, the supervisor of the Nahj initiative, highlighted the corporation's sense of responsibility towards society and the digital sphere.

The initiative is built on four core messages: pride in one's identity, responsibility for the spoken and written word, delivering valuable content, and fostering national pride. Al-Marri emphasized that every piece of content published carries responsibility and can leave an impact on both individuals and society. The program will involve direct interactions with content creators and educational sessions aligned with its objectives.

Qatar University played a role in hosting the launch, underscoring the importance of knowledge in serving society. The public is encouraged to follow QMC's social media accounts to receive updates and materials produced by the Digital Media Office. The program aims to raise awareness of risks in the digital world, improve the ability to distinguish between positive and negative content, and encourage responsible engagement with platforms.

A panel discussion during the launch highlighted the importance of self-regulation among creators and users, the role of influencers in shaping messages, and the need for verification of digital content. Experts underscored the significance of maintaining integrity in one's words and preserving the Arabic language while appealing to younger generations.
