Qatar welcomes resumption of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Belgium and the Republic of Rwanda

Qatar has welcomed the decision by Belgium and Rwanda to resume diplomatic relations and reopen their embassies, viewing it as a positive move that demonstrates the countries' commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue and mutual understanding. The State of Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that Doha hosted the first meeting between the foreign ministers of the two nations in June 2025, as part of Qatar's efforts to foster closer ties between them.

This initial encounter opened the door to direct communication, leading to the resumption of diplomatic relations.

Qatar expressed its appreciation for Rwanda and Belgium's acknowledgment of the country's role in facilitating this process. The Ministry commended the constructive approach taken by both nations in addressing their differences and clearing up any misunderstandings. It expressed hope that the reestablishment of diplomatic ties would open new avenues for cooperation, contributing to peace and stability in the region and internationally.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar's strong belief that direct dialogue and diplomatic channels are the most effective means of resolving international differences, reaffirming its support for all initiatives aimed at bridging perspectives and resolving disputes peacefully.
