Qatar participates in "Delivering Social Rights, Renewing Democracy: From Doha and Chisinau to a New Democratic Pact for Europe" side event

Qatar took part in a high-level side event called "Delivering Social Rights, Renewing Democracy: From Doha and Chisinau to a New Democratic Pact for Europe" during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Wednesday. The event was held on the sidelines of the assembly.

Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, the Director of the International Organizations Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, represented the country at the event. In her speech, Her Excellency highlighted that Qatar's hosting of the Second World Summit for Social Development showcased its dedication to supporting multilateral action.

She stated that the summit helped renew the international commitment to prioritizing people in development and promoting social justice, solidarity, and international cooperation.

Her Excellency further affirmed that the Doha Political Declaration serves as a vital framework for guiding international efforts to convert commitments into tangible actions aimed at achieving development and social justice. This, she noted, aids in expediting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and ensures that no one is left behind.
