PH P Pinang bincang kedudukan Umno Sabtu ini

Pakatan Harapan (PH) Pulau Pinang is set to discuss its relationship with Umno during a meeting on Saturday, according to their deputy, Faiz Fadzil. The party claims Umno's attacks, including those from the recently concluded PAU (Pertubuhan Angkatan Utara), necessitate a decision. The meeting will be held at DAP's office in Pulau Pinang at 3 pm.

Faiz Fadzil noted that PH Pulai Pinang has never attacked Umno in any state-wide program. He also mentioned that PAU statements from Umno representatives are unjustified and hurtful. According to Faiz, PH Pulai Pinang will also examine the feelings of Sungai Acheh Adun Rashidi Zainol to ensure continued cooperation between BN (Barisan Nasional) and PH. Rashidi, the sole BN representative in Pulai Pinang's government, sees this cooperation as building and benefiting the state.

Faiz pointed out that PH previously decided to keep Umno in the state government, but the current situation is different. In Perak and Pahang, relations have been maintained well. He questioned why Umno plays this way when their representatives attack PH and the Pulai Pinang government. If Umno's exco wants to remain in the government, they must be honest, Faiz stated.

At the PAU on September 12, Umno's Permatang Pauh chief Zaidi Said accused Umno President Zahid Hamidi's strategy of working with PKR to weaken PH, which eventually harms his own coalition, DAP. He claimed DAP, seen as Umno's main opponent, cannot be directly defeated as it has its own voter base.

On September 16, Zaidi resigned from the Seberang Perai City Council following his comments. Earlier, DAP's consultant Lim Guan Eng urged Umno to be removed from Pulai Pinang's government after BN's cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN) in Negeri Sembilan. However, Pulai Pinang's Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who also chairs PH, said the state leadership has not received any instructions regarding this matter from the central leadership.
