Pak Khlong Talat flower vendor alleges official threatens her to close roadside stall

A flower seller in Bangkok, Rasika Promjaidee, has accused an alleged government official of threatening to close her roadside stall and pushing her onto the road as a public bus approached. Footage of the incident, featuring a man dressed in black similar to municipal officers, has circulated on Thai social media. According to Rasika, the man in the footage claimed the stall was in her designated spot and threatened to shut it down if she did not comply.

She stressed that she had operated the stall for nearly two decades and refused to move. The man allegedly continued to return daily, leading Rasika to close her business out of fear for her safety. She reported the matter to the police but has not received an update. The owner of a house beside the footpath, reportedly 71-year-old Muay, claimed to have instructed the man to threaten Rasika.

Muay denied knowing the man in the footage and stated her concern was maintaining a clear footpath for safety reasons. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and other relevant agencies have not commented on the incident.
