Osun LG crisis: APC issues warning to Gov Adeleke administration

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has issued a stern warning to Governor Ademola Adeleke's administration over the perceived "victimization" of local government workers. The warning was issued in a statement by the party's Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi.

The APC alleged that the state government is targeting some council employees for investigations and disciplinary actions due to their alleged support for the party during the August 15, 2026, governorship election. The party claims that a committee has been formed by the Osun State Local Government Service Commission to investigate the suspected workers.

According to the APC, the committee is chaired by Tunji Adeleke Jnr, who is identified as the governor's nephew and chairman of the Local Government Service Commission. The party stated that local government workers have already been summoned for questioning at the commission's premises in the Osun State Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo.

The APC raised concerns over the alleged examination of workers' mobile phones, suggesting that their messages and communications are being scrutinized for any connections to APC members and supporters. The party vehemently denounced the actions as "inhuman, barbaric, and unconstitutional," emphasizing that it is unacceptable to punish LG workers based on their political affiliation.
