NFL quarterback power rankings heading into Week 3

Here is my account of the story:

As the NFL season begins, many key quarterbacks have been sidelined by injuries, leaving teams reliant on backups. In Week 3, the list of starting-quality quarterbacks is notably short. However, the most important players at the top remain the same.

At the bottom of the rankings is Jameis Winston, who has struggled with a poor start to his season. He only completed 40.7% of his passes and threw an interception in a recent loss. Winston, who hasn't been a consistent starter since 2019, could be under center for the remainder of the season.

Below Winston, Jacoby Brissett of the Los Angeles Chargers stands out. Despite allowing 277 yards passing to Brissett in their last game, the Chargers have managed to turn around his season.

Deshaun Watson, who came back and played well enough to retain his job, occupies the 30th spot. Marcus Mariota, who wasn't terrible when Jayden Daniels was out last season but wasn't great either, ranks 29th. He started 2-6 games last season with the Commanders.

Tyson Bagent of the Chicago Bears, who hasn't thrown a touchdown pass since 2023 despite the Bears believing in him, sits at 28th. Kirk Cousins, tied for the league lead with six touchdown passes, currently ranks 27th. He has helped the Raiders to a 2-0 record.

Malik Willis, who has had an underwhelming start with the Dolphins, is ranked 26th. Cam Ward, with one touchdown pass in two games, ranks 25th. Aaron Rodgers leads the rankings at 22nd, with more passing yards than Justin Herbert, Drake Maye, and Baker Mayfield.

The list continues with Michael Penix Jr. at 24th, Aaron Rodgers at 22nd, and Kyler Murray at 20th. Justin Herbert, Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield, Bo Nix, Drake Maye, Jordan Love, Drew Lock, Trevor Lawrence, Jared Goff, and Jameis Winston complete the top 15.
