New UFC signee says jet lag cost him KO: ‘I hate that guy’

Alvi Dasuyev secured his spot in the Ultimate Fighting Championship with a unanimous decision win over Jaden Ortega on Dana White’s Contender Series. The victory brought Dasuyev’s professional record to a perfect 10-0, and he marked his second second-round appearance. Following the bout, both fighters were awarded UFC contracts by UFC CEO Dana White, who commended Dasuyev while acknowledging Ortega’s performance.

After the fight, Dasuyev explained that jet lag played a significant role in his inability to secure a knockout. During a post-fight interview, he expressed his joy at earning his UFC contract, stating, “It’s a dream that’s coming true.” He also revealed that if he hadn’t been suffering from jet lag, he would have knocked out Ortega, adding, “I’m sure about that. I hate that guy, to be honest.”
