Nashik: Civic Administration Gears Up For Ganesh Idol Immersion

The city of Nashik is preparing for the immersion of Ganesh idols following the conclusion of the festival. Civic authorities are ensuring that devotees are not inconvenienced by making arrangements at major immersion sites, including ghats, artificial ponds, and designated centers. Cleanliness, water supply, lighting, medical aid, and emergency response are top priorities at these sites.

Traffic management and parking are being arranged due to the anticipated large crowds. Extra police will be present along procession routes, and barricades will be set up to prevent congestion.

CCTV surveillance and monitoring will be utilized to oversee the situation, particularly in crowded and sensitive areas. Lifeguards, fire brigade personnel, and disaster management teams will be stationed at key immersion locations. Citizens are urged to utilize designated safe immersion areas and artificial ponds instead of venturing into deep water. Children and senior citizens are advised to receive special attention.

Organizers and devotees are expected to adhere to noise control norms when using drums, loudspeakers, and other sound systems during processions. The city aims to conduct the festival in an eco-friendly manner by organizing separate arrangements for collecting nirmalya (religious offerings) and idols. Sanitation teams will conduct special campaigns to prevent plastic, nirmalya, and other waste from polluting rivers, streams, and water bodies.
