Mbappé reveals he turned down chance to join Klopp at Liverpool

Kylian Mbappé has disclosed that he once had discussions about a potential move to Liverpool during his time at AS Monaco, under the management of Jürgen Klopp. Mbappé, speaking in an interview with Sport Bild, admitted he would have "really liked" to join Klopp in England at the time. However, he ultimately chose to move to Paris Saint-Germain, preferring to stay closer to his hometown of Paris and feeling comfortable in his surroundings.

Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig were among the other interested clubs during that period, though Mbappé emphasized that declining any of them did not reflect negatively on those teams. Despite his appreciation for Klopp, the French player expressed that he avoids bothering the coach, acknowledging his heavy workload. Mbappé remains eager to face Klopp again, praising him as one of the best coaches in recent years.
