Man charged after allegedly posting ‘hunting permit’ targeting Muslims: Durham police

Durham police have charged a 57-year-old man from Whitby, Ontario, following allegations that he promoted anti-Muslim hatred online. Investigators with the hate crime unit determined that the suspect, who goes by the name Sean Strife on social media platforms, "wilfully incited violence and harm against the Muslim community" through his posts.

One of the incendiary advertisements featured a "hunting permit" targeted at Muslims in North America. The suspect was arrested and charged with an offence motivated by hatred and inciting hatred in a public place. He is currently being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
