Malaysia break into Asian Games top 10

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has made a significant breakthrough in the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games medal standings, breaking into the top 10. As of 9pm, China remains at the top with an impressive tally of 48 gold, 20 silver, and 10 bronze medals. Japan and South Korea follow closely with 15-25-27 and 8-8-25 respectively. Malaysia, however, has managed to leapfrog into the eighth position with three gold, one silver, and five bronze medals.

This remarkable achievement was led by Taj Izrin Aiman Taj Madira, a racing sim driver who secured Malaysia's first-ever Asian Games eSports gold. Taj Izrin's victory in the Gran Turismo 7 title at the Aichi Sky Expo contributed to Malaysia's success. Karate athlete C. Shahmalarani added to the country's medal haul with a bronze in the women's kumite under-50kg category.

Additionally, Malaysia earned a silver medal in eFootball, after narrowly losing the final match to Iran on aggregate. Lastly, Clement Ting, a wushu exponent, brought home the country's third gold, winning bronze in the men's daoshu-gunshu event.
