The Minnesota Lynx experienced a tough Tuesday night, falling 23 points behind Indiana Fever at halftime in their quest for the top seed heading into the 2026 WNBA playoffs. Head coach Cheryl Reeve opted to bench her star players, including Napheesa Collier, for the second half. Despite the heavy defeat, the Lynx managed to secure the top seed due to the Golden State Valkyries' overtime loss to Portland Fire.
With one game left, the Valkyries could still tie with the Lynx, but the Lynx took the tiebreaker with a 3-1 series win. Regardless of the final seeding, Reeve remains confident in her team's playoff prospects, notably their strong road record of 18-4.
