Kwabena Kwabena Raises Alarm Over Sachet Water Quality

Ghanaian musician Kwabena Kwabena has raised concerns about the quality of sachet water available in the market. In a video shared on social media, the Highlife artist showcased two sachets of water from the same pack, highlighting a noticeable change in their color after several weeks of storage. Kwabena Kwabena, who had resorted to purchasing sachet water for cooking due to doubts about tap water quality, expressed serious concerns about the safety of the product.

"This is serious," he stated, drawing attention to the potential issues that could arise from the water's apparent discoloration.

Responding to the musician's appeal, authorities from the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) have been urged to investigate the matter. Kwabena Kwabena emphasized the importance of ensuring that water producers adhere to safety and quality standards, warning of potential risks to consumers if contaminated or substandard water is consumed or used for cooking. The incident has brought attention to the need for stricter regulation and oversight of the sachet water industry in Ghana.
