IHS Restates Commitment to Sustainable ICT Sector in Nigeria

IHS Nigeria reaffirmed its dedication to fostering a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive telecommunications and technology sector in Nigeria. This commitment was articulated during a stakeholder breakfast session organized by the Telecommunications and Technology Sustainability Working Group (TTSWG) in Abuja. Titilope Oguntuga, Director of Sustainability at IHS Nigeria, emphasized the significance of the stakeholder dialogue in advancing practical sustainability solutions throughout the sector.

She highlighted that the gathering allowed for an open assessment of the achieved progress and identification of areas necessitating additional efforts to enhance collaboration on environmental, social, and governance priorities. Oguntuga stated, "TTSWG's progress reflects a shared and enduring conviction: that technology and innovation remain among the most effective tools available to address the sector's challenges.

This conviction continues to guide the work and partnerships shaping the telecommunications and technology space today." Abdu-Waya Mohammed, Chairman of the TTSWG Board, underscored the strategy's role in bolstering collaboration on sustainability within the telecommunications and technology ecosystem. Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO of the Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC), described the TTSWG as a multi-stakeholder platform established to promote sustainability across the telecommunications and technology sector.
