'Honest living': Singaporeans express well-wishes as ex-Workers' Party MP Faisal Manap starts as property agent

Faisal Manap, a former Member of Parliament for the Workers' Party, has transitioned to a career as a property agent with ERA Real Estate Singapore. On September 21, a Facebook post featured Manap alongside three other men at an ERA location, announcing his appointment as an associate with the company. ERA's website confirmed Manap's employment as an associate, indicating he officially became a registered real estate agent on September 16.

Manap remains a vice-chairperson for the Workers' Party. According to Berita Harian, Manap is undergoing mentorship and gaining practical experience through hands-on training. His new position provides him with flexible working hours. Manap explained to Berita Harian that his extensive background in the service sector, including roles as a counsellor and an MP for 14 years, has made community service a core aspect of his identity. Consequently, he decided to explore the real estate industry at this stage of his life.

Previously, Manap worked as a Housing and Development Board (HDB) technical officer from 1998 to 2002. Reflecting on his career shift, Manap emphasized his belief in his abilities and a step-by-step approach to his endeavors. He expressed his goal to achieve the best possible outcome in every venture.
