Haze eases in Lubok Antu, but Kanowit air remains ‘very unhealthy’ at midday

Kanowit and Lubok Antu in Sarawak experienced very unhealthy air quality conditions this morning, according to the Natural Resources and Environment Board's API Status for the region, which classified both stations in the 'Very Unhealthy' category. The highest reading of 244 was recorded in Kanowit, surpassing the other locations in the state.

Lubok Antu followed with a reading of 205. All other areas, except Bario, recorded API readings in the 'Unhealthy' category. Sri Aman had the highest 'Unhealthy' reading at 181, while Betong, Serian, and Kuching recorded readings of 180, 179, and 174, respectively. The remaining areas, including Sibu, Belaga, Sarikei, Samarahan, Bintulu, Mukah, Samalaju, and Miri, had API readings of 173 or lower.
