Flutterwave convenes global leaders at UNGA 2026 to power Africa’s next decade of growth

Flutterwave, Africa’s preeminent payments technology company, is convening a high-level forum at the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 81) to accelerate the continent’s economic expansion. Hosted on September 23rd, 2026, the invitation-only event, titled “Africa Forward: Investing in the Next Decade of Growth,” will gather influential global leaders from both public and private sectors, including state governors, ministers, and executives from major organizations like JPMorgan, Citi, Visa, Google, Microsoft, Standard Bank Group, Africa Finance Corporation, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Flutterwave Founder and CEO, Olugbenga “GB” Agboola, will spearhead the company’s delegation, joined by key executives including Chief Legal, Regulatory Affairs & Public Policy Officer Oluwabankole Falade and Managing Director, Flutterwave Services Limited, Risikatu Ahmed. The forum will tackle the essential financial frameworks necessary to facilitate cross-border commerce, enhance global funds movement, and unlock institutional capital.

UNGA 81, coinciding with Flutterwave’s tenth anniversary, underscores the company’s transformation into a comprehensive financial operating system for Africa, underpinned by its robust record of advocating for the tech ecosystem through global platforms such as the World Bank/IMF Meetings, World Economic Forum, and prior UNGA sessions.

Agboola emphasized that Flutterwave is constructing a multi-rail payments system encompassing fiat payments, bank transfers, cards, mobile money, stablecoins, and blockchain networks to provide a unified digital payment experience. By consolidating digital payments, broadening banking services, embedding compliant stablecoin solutions, and promoting progressive financial infrastructure across the continent, Flutterwave aims to mitigate obstacles in global trade and empower African enterprises to scale effortlessly across international boundaries.
