First images of Bentley's Torcal, its first fully electric vehicle

After more than a century of crafting prestigious grand tourers, Bentley has revealed its inaugural fully electric vehicle. CEO Frank-Steffen Walliser asserts that the Torcal sets unprecedented standards in performance, comfort, craftsmanship, and soulful sound. The National had a sneak peek at the prototype at Bentley's historic Pyms Lane factory in Crewe back in June.

The Torcal is a low and purposeful design, with a length of approximately five meters and a range of around 483 kilometers. Its exterior features a fully illuminated grille, deviating from conventional cues like Bentley's signature circular headlights. Inside, the cabin prioritizes driver comfort, featuring a curved central touchscreen, a driver-focused design, and tactile physical controls.

Bentley maintains that the Torcal offers "the luxury of choice," with customers able to select from various powertrain options, including internal combustion, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric. Despite the company's cautious approach, the announcement underscores production readiness, with technical details forthcoming. The Torcal represents Bentley's most significant launch since the original Continental GT, which propelled the brand to global success.
