While the war in Iran and AI governance dominate conversations at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, climate change remains a significant topic. Meanwhile, climate activists held a fashion show at the New York Public Library steps to promote awareness about the fashion industry's impact on climate change. The industry is a major polluter, responsible for up to 8% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Models wore outfits made from recycled materials and added messages and calls to action to their garments.

Pablo Amry, a climate activist from Mexico City working with the grassroots organization Sustaining All Life, highlighted the emotional stress faced by climate activists. Ireland's new youth climate delegate, Adam Ó Ceallaigh, traveled to New York for the UNGA events. He emphasized the importance of hope in climate action and expressed his optimism after speaking with others working on the topic.
