Ex-Lagos LG chair, aspirant fault APC expulsion

Former Agege Local Government Chairman, Ganiyu Egunjobi, and former Agege Constituency II aspirant, Azeez Yusuf, have announced that they resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in July, prior to the Lagos State chapter of the party's announcement of their expulsion on September 23. Egunjobi and Yusuf made this claim in a statement released on Wednesday in response to their expulsion from the APC for alleged anti-party activities and disloyalty.

In their statement, the duo argued that they had already left the APC and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) before their expulsion was announced. The Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, had previously announced their expulsion on September 23, citing the party's invocation of Article 9(5)(II) of its constitution. Egunjobi and Yusuf maintained that their decision to leave the APC was a response to what they perceived as the party's failure to address their grievances over its primary elections.
