Delhi's LSR College shifts classes online

Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) has suspended physical classes and shifted teaching online following a gangrape incident near the college. An alleged gangrape of a 17-year-old girl occurred at Aastha Kunj Park near Kalkaji Mandir, prompting police to conduct an encounter near the college's back gate. The encounter took place just 50 meters from the gate, leading to heightened anxiety among students and staff.

The college administration prioritized student safety and well-being, arranging for faculty mentors and counsellors to remain available to students. The alleged gangrape at Aastha Kunj Park happened on Monday evening, where a 17-year-old girl visited Kalkaji Mandir with a male friend and was later separated from her friend and sexually assaulted by three men posing as policemen.

All three accused have been arrested, with one of them, Asif, sustaining a leg injury during police apprehension. The incident has intensified concerns among LSR students, particularly those living in nearby accommodations. The LSR Students' Union held an emergency online meeting to discuss safety concerns and the incident, calling for immediate action and collective measures to address the issue.
