Copper Names Elin Cherry and Sam Goh Co-CEOs as It Expands Institutional Services

Digital asset infrastructure firm Copper announced on September 22 that it had appointed Elin Cherry and Sam Goh as co-chief executives, effective September 21, 2026. The move comes as the London-based company expands its services for institutional clients. Amar Kuchinad, the previous CEO, has since moved to an advisory role.

Matthias Winter, who previously served as Copper’s head of legal for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, was named the chief legal officer. Cherry, who served as Copper’s chief compliance officer, brings over 30 years of experience from banks, broker-dealers, and digital asset firms. Goh had been in the role of chief financial officer since 2023.

With their appointments, Cherry and Goh will jointly lead the company’s compliance and finance functions as it develops its product offerings. The U.S. broker-dealer, Copper Markets (US) Inc., joined the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Copper identified qualified custody, staking, financing, and collateral management as the services it intends to develop in the U.S. The company also highlighted its ClearLoop network, which connects custodians, prime brokers, and trading venues for collateral management.

Chairman Mike Kuehnel praised Cherry and Goh's complementary experience in regulation, finance, and institutional markets. Cherry stated that the company would tailor its products to meet the needs of institutional clients as digital asset markets continue to evolve. Copper's board, including founder Dmitry Tokarev, will continue to guide the company’s product development and growth strategy.
