Cabinet commends Amir's UNGA speech, reaffirms Qatar's regional security stance

Doha, Qatar - The Qatar Cabinet commended Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani's speech at the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, praising its reflection of the nation's core principles and firm stances. The Cabinet reaffirmed Qatar's steadfast positions on various regional and global issues, emphasizing its commitment to dialogue, peaceful resolution of disputes, and defense of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The leaders' approach, combining steadfastness with flexibility, prioritizes the interests of its people and the nation above all else. The Cabinet also condemned the Houthi group's drone attacks on Makkah, Taif Governorate, Riyadh, and other cities in Saudi Arabia, reaffirming Qatar's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supporting all legitimate measures they take to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and holy sites.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a draft law on international road transport among GCC states, implementing decisions for Law No. 3 of 2025 on travel and air cargo agencies, and a draft agreement on strategic cooperation between Qatar and Albania. The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of various committees, reports from the Minister of Labour, and participation in the GCC Ministerial Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security.
