Business as usual for Negeri Sembilan secretary

Negeri Sembilan's state secretary, Zafir Ibrahim, has been diligently continuing his duties, despite claims of suspension from Menteri Besar Ismail Lasim. Zafir asserts that Chief Secretary Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has directed him to maintain his responsibilities as per usual. Attorney-General Dusuki Mokhtar and other legal advisers have informed Zafir that the suspension is invalid.

Zafir has yet to receive an official letter regarding his suspension. Ismail previously announced the suspension of Zafir and legal adviser Muzalmah Mustapha Kamal, stating it was decided by the state executive council during a special meeting. Masli Razali and Fahmi Adilah were to assume the roles temporarily. The suspension is being contested, as Ismail's executive council was dismissed by Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.

The Attorney-General's Chambers claims the executive council and Menteri Besar lacked authority to suspend the officials, and that such decisions fall under the purview of the Public Services Commission and Judicial and Legal Service Commission.
