Bus Connectivity Sought For Beed-Pune Train Commuters

The daily Beed-Pune train service commenced operations on Wednesday, prompting local activists to advocate for city bus connectivity to ease travel to and from the railway station. SM Yusuf and Ramesh Gangadhare, prominent social activists, forwarded a memorandum to various state officials, including the Guardian Minister, local MP, MLA, District Collector, and Divisional Controller of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC).

The activists raised concerns about escalating travel fares and recommended key routes for the proposed bus service.

They emphasized that while the Beed Railway Station is operational, it is located several kilometers away from the city's main areas. Without accessible public transportation, passengers would be forced to pay exorbitant fares to private operators for reaching the station. To address this financial strain on commuters, the activists urged the MSRTC to launch connecting buses from significant locations throughout the city to the railway station, with return services synchronized with train arrivals.

The memorandum suggested initial routes for the proposed bus service, such as connecting the Government Polytechnic with the Railway Station, the MIDC Area with the Railway Station, Anandwadi with the Railway Station, Karpara River with the Railway Station, and Charhata Phata with the Railway Station.
