Border Guard in Asir arrests five Ethiopians for smuggling 100 kg of khat

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has clarified reports about the alleged mobilization of a foreign citizen at the border. The detained individual, a Hasidic man, held dual citizenship. Unlike foreign citizens, Ukrainian border guards typically do not verify military registration for foreign nationals at state border crossings.

The border guards emphasized that the man in question is a Ukrainian citizen. During their control, they discovered that he also possessed Ukrainian citizenship, and his liable-for-military-service records indicated he was wanted. Consequently, border guards handed him over to National Police representatives for further investigation, stating that the information about mobilizing a foreign citizen at the checkpoint did not align with the true events.

The incident involved a 49-year-old man named Yonatan Karlinsky-Mashak, born in Ukraine and emigrated to Israel about a decade ago. He is an Israeli citizen and a father of six. His wife confirmed his mobilization, explaining that the embassy informed them that everything occurred in accordance with the law, and they would seek assistance.
