Benue APC condemns Agada’s alleged attack on Alia, party leaders

The Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denounced statements made by its former State Chairman, Comrade Austin Agada, regarding Governor Hyacinth Alia and two prominent party members. Agada, speaking on TVC News’ Politics Tonight, called Governor Alia an "ingrate" and labeled Hon. Prince Moses Ternenge and Hon.

Engr. Livinus Tsar as "illiterates." The party's Publicity Secretary, Benedict Yaweh, stated that the APC finds Agada's remarks against Ternenge and Tsar particularly unacceptable, emphasizing that an individual's professional background or humble origins do not diminish their character, abilities, or contributions to the party and society.

The APC rebuffed Agada's claim that Governor Alia is under the influence of individuals surrounding him. They also dismissed Agada's assertion that he sold his Abuja property to support the Governor's 2023 campaign without receiving compensation, stating that such a claim requires evidence and should be addressed through appropriate channels.

Similarly, Agada's declaration that Governor Alia has given him no reason to campaign for him in 2027 is seen as a personal political stance and should not be presented as an assessment of the administration. The party reiterated that Governor Alia and the APC leadership in Benue State are concentrating on fortifying the party, unifying its structures, and garnering support across the state for the 2027 general elections.

The APC urged all dissatisfied members and stakeholders to put aside their grievances and return to the party to work towards the collective benefit of the party. They expressed openness to dialogue and reconciliation, emphasizing that unity and the future of the APC are more important than individual differences. The APC reaffirmed its dedication to internal reconciliation, responsible political discourse, and the ongoing strengthening of its structures in Benue State.
