Before final start of career, Justin Verlander undecided on entering Hall of Fame as Astro or Tiger

Justin Verlander, a 43-year-old starting pitcher for the Houston Astros, is preparing for his final start of his illustrious baseball career. The Hall of Fame has yet to decide which team's logo will appear on the plaque commemorating his induction. Verlander, who has played for four different teams, is best known for his 14-year tenure with the Tigers and his seven-season stint with the Astros.

He announced his retirement earlier this summer, leaving the final decision on his Hall of Fame team to the organization's discretion. Verlander, who won two World Series titles and two Cy Young Awards with the Astros, is not yet ready to announce his decision. He has expressed that he does not like discussing the matter, stating that he appreciates the recognition but does not wish to choose just yet.

Verlander considers his 2019 season with the Astros as his most dominant, where he struck out 300 batters for the first time in a season. During his 71-minute appearance on Mookie Betts' podcast, he shared that his favorite year was 2022 when the Astros won their second World Series.
