Bank Rakyat perkukuh agenda transformasi digital bersama Alibaba, Lenovo

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim attended a strategic meeting with Bank Rakyat, Alibaba Cloud, and Lenovo during his visit to China. This collaboration aims to strengthen Malaysia's digital transformation agenda by exploring new technologies, enhancing operational efficiency, and expanding support for Malaysian businesses. The meeting, held in Shanghai, China, covered cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, fintech, and cross-border trade.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim also aimed to strengthen Malaysia-China cooperation in digital technology, AI, and fintech.

Bank Rakyat's Chairman, Irwan Mubarak, emphasized that this strategic cooperation is a crucial step in strengthening the bank's digital capabilities as the financial services landscape continues to evolve rapidly. "Through this strategic cooperation, Bank Rakyat combines global technology capabilities with our understanding of the Malaysian market to explore solutions that can enhance customer experience, strengthen operational efficiency, and create new opportunities for Malaysian businesses," he stated in a press release.

Through the partnership with Alibaba Cloud, Bank Rakyat will explore the use of cloud computing, AI, data analytics, and other digital solutions to boost the capabilities and competitiveness of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia. The bank will also explore initiatives to bring local MSMEs, particularly its clients, to the Alibaba e-commerce platform, enabling them to market and sell products in the international market and expand cross-border trade.

In addition, Lenovo will join the Bank Rakyat Fintech Community Hub as an ecosystem partner to help identify promising fintech companies for collaboration with the bank through its accelerator program. This partnership will leverage Lenovo's network of startups and fintech companies to identify technology partners and innovative solutions that can be developed within the Bank Rakyat ecosystem.

Executive Director of the Bank Rakyat Group, Ahmad Shahril Mohd Shariff, added that using technology is not just about transforming banking services, but also about strengthening the ecosystem that supports Malaysian businesses. "By collaborating with leading global technology players, we can accelerate the exploration and adoption of capabilities that improve how we serve our customers, strengthen operations, and support businesses in a rapidly digitalizing economy," he said.
