Ukraine boosts rapeseed, sunflower oil exports in Sept, oilseed prices hold flat – Spike Brokers

From September 1 to September 17, Ukraine saw a rise in oilseed exports, particularly rapeseed and sunflower oil. According to the consulting company Spike Brokers, the country shipped 196,400 tonnes of rapeseed, with 72,000 tonnes exported during the last week of September alone. Sunflower oil exports also increased to 68,000 tonnes during this period.

Nearly half of the rapeseed exports, around 93,800 tonnes, were directed towards Germany. The report further revealed that Ukrainian oilseed processors shipped 81,800 tonnes of rapeseed oil from September 1 to September 17, indicating that both seeds and processed products were being exported simultaneously.

In contrast, sunflower seed exports from September 1 to September 17 were minimal, amounting to just 5,600 tonnes. However, sunflower meal exports were significantly higher at 150,900 tonnes. Additionally, the report noted that Ukrainian spot oilseed indices remained unchanged over the week.

The prices of various oilseeds remained relatively stable as well. The SPIKE sunflower seed CPT plant price was $450 per tonne, while rapeseed was priced at $550 CPT port, $600 FCA Chop, and $500 CPT plant. The prices for GMO and non-GMO soybeans also remained steady, with GMO soybeans at $415 and $440 CPT plant, $440 and $480 FCA Chop, and $400 for domestic processing.

Non-GMO soybeans were priced at $440 and $480 CPT port and FCA Chop, respectively. Ukrainian soybean oil exports totaled 8,700 tonnes, while soybean meal exports reached 25,900 tonnes, primarily headed to Poland, representing about 6,000 tonnes of soybean oil and 11,100 tonnes of meal.
