UAE weather forecast: Temperatures to hit 47°C as fog, clouds expected through Saturday

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE has forecasted temperatures rising to 47°C in some regions on Tuesday, as the country faces a five-day period of high heat and humidity. The weather will be mainly fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective clouds forming over eastern areas in the afternoon. Internal areas can expect temperatures ranging from 21°C to 47°C, while coastal and island regions might see highs of 37°C to 42°C.

Humidity levels are anticipated to increase overnight and into Wednesday morning over some coastal and internal areas, potentially leading to fog or mist. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally strengthening, while sea conditions will remain calm in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

On Wednesday, conditions will stay fair to partly cloudy, with the possibility of convective clouds developing over eastern and southern regions during the afternoon. Overnight and into Thursday morning, humidity will rise in some western areas, possibly resulting in fog or mist formation. Wind speeds may reach up to 35kph on Thursday, with scattered clouds in the east and more humid conditions overnight and on Friday morning, which could trigger fog or mist over certain coastal areas.

South-easterly winds will gradually shift towards north-westerly directions, peaking at 30kph on Friday and Saturday. Generally, fair conditions are expected for these days, albeit with occasional periods of partly cloudy skies. Throughout the week, the NCM predicts that humidity will persist overnight, with a likelihood of fog or mist developing over some coastal and internal areas on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Wind speeds will remain light to moderate, around 30kph, with slight sea conditions prevailing in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman throughout the forecast period.
