French President Emmanuel Macron called for an open-source AI model to be built independently from great powers, emphasizing the need for pooled investment capabilities. US tech giants, such as OpenAI's Sam Altman and Anthropic's Dario Amodei, also advocated for global coordination on AI safety, with discussions taking place ahead of a meeting between Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
