Suan Dusit Arun marks a year of positive urban impact, recording more than 951,000 visitors while helping to create a cooler, greener Bangkok

Suan Dusit Arun, a 11,200 sq m public rooftop park at Bangkok’s Dusit Central Park, celebrated its first anniversary on September 3, 2026. In its debut year, the park welcomed over 951,000 visitors, marking a significant positive impact on urban life. The park, which stands as the largest public rooftop park in Bangkok’s central business district, provides visitors with views of Lumpini Park, one of the city’s most cherished green spaces.

The design of Suan Dusit Arun was developed as a practical solution to urban challenges such as rising temperatures and limited green space access. Its landscape, comprising approximately 98% green space, comprises 184 plant varieties, including 48 Thai species, and boasts nine tree species in the IUCN Red List’s threatened categories.

The park also features water management practices that reduce stormwater runoff by 30-50% compared to conventional hard-surfaced roofs. During its first year, the park hosted over 43 events and activities, engaging more than 9,500 people. These included aerobics, Pilates, city runs, and educational visits, all contributing to a more vibrant, green, and sustainable urban environment.

To mark Bangkok Climate Action Week 2026, Suan Dusit Arun will host a Tree Walk on October 9, 2026, highlighting the importance of urban trees and thoughtful landscape design.
