Munich Strategy's analysis of German companies revealed Von Ardenne, a medium-sized enterprise from Dresden, as one of the fastest-growing medium-sized firms in the country. Their specialty lies in producing thin metal layers for satellite and telescope optical systems. The company's new coating system, introduced in July, allows their technology and expertise to become accessible to a wider range of customers.

Von Ardenne's success extends to many other industries, including solar cell manufacturing, vehicle glass, and turbine blades. In total, Munich Strategy's evaluation of over 8,000 German companies from 2021 to 2025 ranked Von Ardenne as the 12th most valuable company. IT services provider Init placed first in the ranking, with Elmos Semiconductor and Willke-Unternehmensgruppe following.

The sectors that saw the most significant growth in the top 200 companies were machine and plant manufacturing, technology, and consumer goods, each accounting for 32, 17, and 15 percent of the positions, respectively. Healthcare ranked fifth, with 18 companies (9 percent) in the top 200. Specialization proved to be a success factor for these companies, as Sebastian Theopold, Geschäftsführer of Munich Strategy, noted that specialized market leaders often have a better understanding of their customers' processes and can solve specific problems. However, they must also diversify their focus and enter new markets to ensure long-term growth.
