Raichur ZP CEO orders comprehensive survey of individual household toilets under SBM

Raichur Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ishwar Kumar Kandoo has ordered a comprehensive survey of individual household toilets across all gram panchayats in the district under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) (Gramin). In a statement released on Monday, Kandoo revealed that panchayat officials have been instructed to verify the existence of toilets constructed under the SBM.

He noted that despite Raichur being declared open defecation free, authorities had received complaints about eligible families lacking toilets, and some records indicating non-existent or non-functional toilets. Field teams will visit each household to authenticate the physical presence, construction status, and usage of these toilets.

Surveyors equipped with mobile devices will record real-time data and usage details in the 'Nirmala Raichur' application. The survey began on September 21 and is expected to conclude within 15 days, followed by reports at gram panchayat and taluk levels. Taluk Panchayat Executive Officers and Assistant Directors have been designated as nodal officers to monitor quality and progress, with district-level consultants overseeing execution across taluks.

The objective of this initiative is to obtain accurate ground realities, identify genuine missing beneficiaries, and ensure total sanitation coverage.
