QCCD and QFBA introduce specialized training for career advisors

QCCD, established by Qatar Foundation, and QFBA, the Qatar Finance and Business Academy, have jointly announced the commencement of enrollment for the Certified Career Advisor Preparation Program. This specialized seven-week program, running from November 2 to December 14, 2026, aims to elevate career guidance practices within Qatar. It serves career and academic counselors, career services providers, talent acquisition specialists, and university graduates pursuing careers in guidance and counseling.

The program prepares participants to attain the Certified Career Services Provider (CCSP) credential from the American National Career Development Association (NCDA). Saad Abdulla Al-Kharji, QCDC's Executive Director, emphasized that career guidance has evolved into a strategic function crucial for individuals, institutions, and society. Through this program, QCDC and QFBA seek to equip professionals with the necessary foundations, tools, and standards to guide young people and communities effectively.

QFBA CEO, Dr Khalifa Al Salahi Al Yafei, highlighted the centrality of career guidance in nurturing national talent, aligning aspirations with labor market demands, and empowering individuals to make informed academic and professional decisions. The collaboration between QCDC and QFBA underscores a shared dedication to elevating Qatar's career guidance ecosystem by fostering qualified practitioners with the requisite knowledge, skills, and professional standards.

The program, conducted over 13 sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, delves into critical aspects of professional career guidance, encompassing effective helping relationships, career development theories, assessment applications in career planning, ethical considerations, service design and implementation, group facilitation, job search skills, career information technology, and cultural diversity. Key instructors include Dr Khalifa Al Yafei, Dr Mahmood Salim Almaawali, and Dr Hamda Alnaimi.

This joint undertaking combines QCDC's expertise in career guidance and QFBA's professional training acumen, offering participants a comprehensive pathway that merges theoretical knowledge with practical application and certification preparation. The collaboration promises to elevate career guidance standards in Qatar, fostering a more integrated ecosystem of professionals committed to guiding students, graduates, job seekers, and others in navigating educational and career pathways effectively.
