Qatar urges global action and inclusive partnerships at UN humanitarian high-level event

New York - Qatar has urged the global community to take coordinated action and forge inclusive partnerships at a United Nations humanitarian summit, emphasizing the vital role such collaborations play in delivering essential aid. State Minister for International Cooperation Dr. Maryam bint Ali Al Misnad made the call during a ministerial gathering called "87 Million Lives: Delivering on the Promise," which took place during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

Al Misnad stressed that the worsening humanitarian emergencies across the globe are a shared responsibility among all nations. "Alleviating the severity of unprecedented humanitarian crises witnessed in many regions around the world is a duty that rests upon us as active parties in the international community," she stated.

Highlighting the urgency of addressing compounding crises and natural disasters, the Qatari minister called for proactive coordination to ensure the timely, reliable support and safe delivery of aid to affected populations. She emphasized that collaborative humanitarian partnerships are crucial for the effective management and execution of aid delivery.

Al Misnad also advocated for a community-participatory approach in operational programs to maximize the impact of international resources. She pushed for the adoption of targeted strategies tailored to the unique conditions of crisis-hit communities. Such frameworks should actively integrate local stakeholders, with a special focus on including youth groups and women-led initiatives to ensure funding and support are used efficiently and effectively.
